Necklace Details

Turquoise (American; rare) – American turquoise, primarily from the Southwest, is considered the most valuable Turquoise variety globally and prized for its natural beauty, unique matrix patterns, and cultural significance in Native American jewelry. The earliest known turquoise was mined and used approximately 2,300 years ago by the Hohokam and Anasazi people in what is now the Cerrillos and Burro Mountains of New Mexico and Kingman and Morenci mines of Arizona. Turquoise bead-making, mosaic inlay, and stone cutting techniques continue to be practiced and passed down through generations of Native Americans and renowned around the world. Turquoise is one of December’s birthstones and considered a sacred and protective stone around the world.

Aquamarine – Aquamarine was first recorded more than 4,000 years ago, and ancient texts have identified it as the treasure of mermaids. Its serene color invokes the tranquility of the ocean, and it is considered a protective and healing stone that promotes courage, vitality, and serenity. The largest faceted Aquamarine in the world (10,363 carats!) is housed at the Smithsonian. Appearing on the inaugural standardized birthstone list in 1912, Aquamarine is one of March’s birthstones and given as a 19th anniversary gift.

22K Gold Vermeil (India) – 22K gold has a bright yellow hue and balances beauty with strength and resilience. Gold has been revered and coveted since ancient times, worn by royalty, and associated with the divine and sacred. This fine metal has long been connected with alchemy and reminds us of our innate potential for transformation and enlightenment. Gold is given as a 50th anniversary gift.
