Quartz (Madagascar) – Clear Quartz is also known as Rock Crystal or Crystal Quartz. The ancient Greeks called this stone ‘krustallos’, which means ice crystal, because they believed quartz crystals were pieces of ice that were frozen so deeply they would never melt again. The stone of antique crystal balls has been equated with magical, mystical properties throughout the ages. Today it is believed that quartz crystals help with balance, energy, and clarity. Some consider Crystal Quartz an alternate birthstone for April.
Turquoise (Hubei; rare; old stock) – Turquoise has been mined in China for more than 2000 years. The Hubei province includes the Yungai, or Cloud Mountain, and Zhuxi mines; both closed in the early 1990s. The shou character, or ideogram, carved into this bead, means “long life.” Turquoise is one of December’s birthstones and considered a sacred and protective stone around the world.
Hematite – Hematite is a shiny, bold, metallic stone with an iron-packed red streak. It has been used for everything from jewelry to war paint to mirrors, and even to prove there was once water on Mars! It has long been believed to aid in grounding and protection, stability, and resilience, and creation of a calm, balanced environment.
Sterling Silver – Silver is considered a fine metal and, because of its durability, a tangible representation of lasting love and family bonds. It is also believed to strengthen emotional, mental, and physical well-being by promoting inner peace, alleviating stress and anxiety, and warding off negative energy. Wearing or carrying sterling silver serves as a personal talisman, enhancing one's inner strength and resilience. Silver is given as a 25th anniversary gift.
